Chain O'Lakes State Park

Save the Dates of May 18 – 20 because Pack 229 is heading north to Chain O'lakes State Park  just 20 minutes north on Rt. 12.   For 2007 we are holding our family campout  close to home to home so everyone can attend!  this is a wonderful family event that will give you the opportunity to explore one of the nicest State Parks around.  There will be hiking, nature adventures, cooking, and lots of other fun activities!!!!  Check out the links see for your self all the cool things to do!

Plan on arriving on the 18^th of May and set up your camp site!  Being so close to home gives us the perfect opportunity to still attend any spring sporting programs and make it back in time for dinner and our world famous Dutch oven deserts.  If you have NEVER been camping please join us. Just ask anyone who has been with us for a family campout, it is a great time!  We have a kitchen that prepares outdoor culinary delights that make your taste buds jump for joy! This is not Franks and Beans….  How about Surf and Turf, Gumbo, Pork Loin, Corn on the cob, creaser salads, baby back ribs, etc…  if you go hungry, it’s your own fault!  

We will be camping in individual campsites so please get your name in early.  We are also going to look for some volunteers to assist in activity planning while at the camp ground.  Biking, Hiking, fishing, Star Gazing, cooking, orienteering, knot tying, & “Leave no Trace” are all activities that we could do and could use coordinators.  

It would be great to get an early idea of how many of you will plan on attending so we can start our planning, so… just shoot me an e-mail and let me know how many will attend and for how many days we can expect you!  Oh, if you are thinking of bring up a camper, pop-up or RV, please contact me ASAP, the group site is tents only and we need to get you a site close by.
